Pack 250 2011 Graduation Campout Reminders

The Pack 250 graduation camp-out is May 13 though the 15 at Boy Scout Camp Bud Schiele

An invite via PunchBowl.com was sent to your email address in late April with an RSVP request. If you did not get an invite, email Chrissy Palmer cubmaster250@gmail.com.

There are three items we need prior to the campout:

1. Please RSVP no later than Wednesday 5/11 so we can order enough lunch food and supplies. Contact your Den Leader for more details.
2. Den Leaders - Advancement notice deadline is Wednesday 5/5.
3. Completed Medical forms and permission slips. Link to BSA Online Health Form. Need Parts A & B only. Part C & D not needed for campout.

The Pack will be providing lunch on Saturday. Please indicate how many people are coming, which days you will be attending.

There are several options for attending the Graduation Campout:

1) Arrive on Friday and camp Friday night and Saturday night, leaving on Sunday morning

2) Arrive on Saturday morning, setup tent and have lunch, participate in the Cubmazing Race and graduation Sat evening and camp overnight leaving on Sunday morning,

3) Arrive on Saturday, have lunch, participate in the afternoon race and evening graduation, and drive home Sat night. Option 3 might make for a long day and long drive in the dark, but a few people have done this in the past.

We will need to know if many nights you are camping and if you are attending the Saturday Pack provided lunch.

Camp activities include:

Saturday

• AM – Conservation Project
• Noon – Pack Provided Lunch
• Afternoon – Cub-Amazing Race with activities like fishing, taste test, leave no trace, sports, hiking.
• Evening – Campfire, skits, and graduation ceremony

Sunday

• Sunday Service

Directions to Boy Scout Camp:

From Gastonia:

• Take Hwy. 74 West go approx. 20 miles pass Shelby towards Forest City.
• Take Exit 181 Forest City/Spindale Exit
• Exit will veer right –stay straight on 4-lane rd.
• Road will turn into two lane rd (Rock Rd.). at the intersection with Bi-Lo, McDonalds, KFC, and Eckerd.
• Go through the town of Ruth and continue to go straight
• You will cross over Hwy 64 and Pass Tanner outlet on right. Go to the end of Rock Rd.
• Make a Left onto Hudlow Rd
• Proceed on Hudlow Road approx. ½ a mile to Boy Scout Road – take a right at the first entrance on the right.
