Cub Scout Pack 250 Cub Scout Pack in Palmetto Council | York District | Fort Mill & Tega Cay SC
  • About

pack250Cub Scout Pack 250 operates under an annual charter granted to Grace Presbyterian Church on Highway 160 near Tega Cay and serve the boys that live in the Gold Hill Middle School vicinity. We are part of the York District of the Palmetto Council, BSA, headquartered in Spartanburg, SC.

The Pack Committee and Cubmaster run the Pack. Once each month the Pack Committee and Den Leadership meet to plan future events, and address any other issues.

The Pack is divided into smaller groups of 5-10 boys called Dens, with an adult Den Leader and one or more Assistant Den Leaders.

    • First graders are Tigerscs-ranks
    • Second graders are Wolves
    • Third graders are Bears
    • Fourth & Fifth graders are Webelos

Each Den meets once each week, according to the schedule set by their Den Leader. The Pack meets once a month, usually on the 4th Tuesday, from 7:04-8:30 p.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church. The time and place may change for special events. Pack meetings are for family members to come share in their child’s achievements, which are recognized at pack meetings, where we also have a lot of fun.

Cub Scouting means “doing.” Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things.

Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy’s sense of belonging.

    Some Other Pack activities include:

    • Cub Scout Camping – Organized camping is a creative, educational experience in cooperative group living in the outdoors. It uses the natural surroundings to contribute significantly to physical, mental, spiritual, and social growth.
    • Scouting For Food – Collecting food for the local food bank.
    • Blue and Gold Banquets – During the month of Scouting’s anniversary, packs across the country hold blue and gold banquets. In nearly all packs, the banquet is a highlight of the program year.
    • pinewoodderbyCub Scout Derbies – the pinewood derby, raingutter regatta, and space derby—teach Cub Scouts craft skills, the rules of fair play, and good sportsmanship.rain gutter regatta

The success of the Scouting experience lies in the active participation of the family with their boy. We are fortunate to have many families who are very active in encouraging our boys as they progress through the levels of Cub Scouting. Scouting has so much fun to offer every boy. We also offer growth in those qualities that we all want to see fostered in our children that will help them achieve their best in the future. Please remember that Boy Scouts of America is a volunteer organization and we cannot achieve our goals without parent participation. All leaders are volunteers who love what they are doing and need every parent to support the Den and Pack. Please give your time and talents to our children so that they learn To Do Their Best!
