Cub Scout Pack 250

Just a reminder that the Pinewood Derby practice race/weigh in is tonight at Grace starting at 7:00 pm. Registration opens Saturday morning at 8:30 am and you must be in line no later than 9:15 am to qualify. Plan to come early and take advantage of the Snack Shack that Crew 250 will offer for breakfast (biscuits, donuts, coffee, etc.). They will also have various lunch items available later in the day. The Pinewood Derby is Saturday, January, 28^th.  We hope your scout is in the process of putting the final touches on his derby car.  To help you better plan for the event, I’ve have two documents below to download:  1) an Agenda for the event that will help you understand what will take place on Friday and Saturday   2) a “Declaration of Derby Work” that you will be asked to sign as part of the registration process.

Also, please see below the information regarding the collection of medical forms at the Pinewood Derby and what to do if you are not planning to attend the races on Saturday.

We need two volunteers from each den to help throughout the day.  All volunteers should plan to attend the volunteer training on Friday evening to sign up for their specific responsibilities and time slot. Read the rest of this entry »

Pack 250,

This winter we are venturing out for our first Pack Ski Trip.  We’ve selected the Appalachian Ski Mountain on February 17^th.  Our goal is to have fun and earn the Snow Ski and Board Sports Pin and Belt Loop.  The Resort is offering a special rate to all in our Scout Group.  This includes Scouts, Parents, Siblings and Leaders.  The cost is $31 for lift ticket, ski rental and a 1 hour lesson.  All members of our group under the age of 16 will be required to rent a helmet for $3 plus tax.  Adults are encourage to wear a helmet.  Also, the Resort has agreed to provide us with the “Shape Skis” to make learning easier and the day more enjoyable.

You can sign up for the Trip by emailing me (rjm71@comporium.net) with the name of each person in your family and the age of each minor in the family.  Registration for the ski trip will close on Jan 28^th (Pinewood Derby Day).  All monies will be due on the 28^th.  Read the rest of this entry »

Mother/Son Dance

WHEN: Saturday, January 7 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

WHERE: Grace Church

An evite went out Mid December to Pack 250 Families. Please note the date which is earlier than we usually have the event due to a scheduling conflict at Grace.

The attire is semi-formal (full uniform for scouts). A complimentary spaghetti dinner will be served by the Dads.

Photographs will be taken by Cliff Nichols Photography (a professional photographer but also one of our Dads from Den 12). He will offer 3 – 4 professional shots along with some candids on a CD for $24.95. Please come prepared to pay the night of the event with Cash or Check (payable to Cliff Nichols).
